How do I open Ice Minion Door The Relics Are In But It Won't Open

This happend to me once and I quit the game for a while and then I restarted the game and I went back there an I put the Relics in and it opened for me, so I don't know.
Yeah...I didn't put any relics in it I think. I can't remember doing that. I think I just had a key. And once you get through how do you kill the ice minion??? I have no idea. Are you supposed to do something to it when it's resting it's claw on the ground? I have tried fire, horn attacks, and chi attacks but nothing seems to work for me. Please help me!
First you have to make him tired.He will drop his sword.Go to the real region and burn his sword.Then go to the dark world and use chi power to destroy his other weapen.Finally use normal attacks to kill him. I hope that information is useful.Glad to help.
