The point is to keep the dog from running to the edge, and this one is tricky. It also depends on the luck of the board you have. The dog usually runs upwards, so try to block him from getting towards the edge. I would keep a couple of spaces ahead of him, and head towards a pre-put black dot to help you fence him off.
