Question for Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box

I have put the cork in 1 and 2, 1 and 3 and 2and 3 and also 1 cork individually in 1-2-3 still does not solve problem what am I doing wrong

put the two corks up the mans nose if you wish to suceed at this puzzle. It is quite a hard one but the ones that trick you are the best!
