If you're actually missing one jigsaw piece then you haven't solved the 120 story puzzles (this excludes the 15 bonus house puzzles) ... If you had then you would have all the pieces

The game tells you (both in the save file slot when you load it and in the trunk display) how many puzzles you've solved and found (this count includes the bonus houses)

If this count actually says 120/120 (and you're actually missing a painting scrap) then you must have solved some bonus house puzzles

It's possible that you already have all of the Inn items as not all of the slots get filled ... You just haven't put them in the right rooms

Another thing you can do is to use the puzzle index in the game to find out which puzzle(s) you haven't found or solved

If you haven't looked at any of the bonus house puzzles, for example, then the game will likely tell you that your puzzle count is something like 119/120 or 119/119

If the solved/found count is different, then look down the puzzle list to find any puzzle that hasn't been solved

If the count is the same, then very carefully look down the puzzle list to find any missing puzzle numbers (it may help to count in groups of ten) ... You may have to check this more than once as some players have had to look through the list multiple times before they find it
