Can someone please help me with this one. Have read all the hints and the answer appears to be to 'move the 3 on the points back to their original positions'.But what exactly doe this mean.

This is actually quite an old puzzle
You only have to move the three corner coins so that the arrow points down
The arrow starts with one coin at the top and four coins at the bottom, so to make the arrow point down, just move the three coins so there's four coins on the top row and one coin at the bottom
As an extra hint, all three coins are moved either straight up or straight down
Move the top coin to below the bottom line.
Then move the two coins in corners of the bottom line to the second line of coins.
