Question for Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs

I just went past Nema's house and I am on my way to Mt. Latolato. I've found Rand on top, and I've had to try 3 Pokemon at a time. My Styler said that a Poke Assist would be very helpful in this situation, so I tried a Kingler and nothing really happened. How do you beat those guys?

Your Styler says to use a Poke assist on the Pokemon that you are attempting to capture. So if you use Kingler on the Pokemon you are trying to capture, it would only be helpful to you if his bubbles hit the opposing Pokemon. In order to do that, you have to hit the Poke assist button on the bottom right corner, press and hold the Kingler icon, and move the Kingler to a spot on the screen closer to the Pokemon you are trying to capture. When you have Kingler in an appropriate place on screen, release your stylus. Make sure it cannot be hit by an attack, though, because if it is, it will run away and you will have to go capture it again.
