How do I get to route 224?

In victory road near where you exit there is a fat guy blocking the entrance. I don't know how to get past but thats where you get to route 224
When you get the national dex go to the Pokemon league and go to the end of victory road. Do you remember the Hiker blocking your way? He's gone now so go in the room he was blocking. You will need to team up with a girl named Marley. Find your way through the maze (Boy is it hard) then she will leave you. Finally the exit! Get out of that joint and voila!
Beat the E4. After you do, go back into Victory Road from the north side and go through an enterance on the east wall. Team up with the girl(Arcanine) and make your way through(Defog helps). Once you get out, you are on Route 224
