Question for Pokemon Pearl

Ellow,
on the WI-FI I got the cable and everything I go down stairs in the Pokemon centre and it says iv no friends in my pal pad and come back when I have but none of my friends have ds's with Pokemon D/P so does it mean I can't trade and battle people around the world? And how do I put people in my pal pad

You only can battle with people in your and their pal pad. The key is to have both in the pal pad. To enter a code go to enter new Code and follow instructions.

Ok all you have to do is go on other forums or sites and stuff and find people that have their friend code posted then go to your pal pad in key items and press use enter the code. After you do this everytime someone you have registered is on you can battle/trade with them.
