Question for Pokemon Pearl

Ok, my action replay is acting wierd when ever I put in the ID number for Pokemon pearl it shows on the touch screen red and blue stripes going up (or down it's hard to tell) and it doesnt go to the code menu like my cuzin told me it would

Try doing it from the AR software.
