Question for Pokemon Pearl

How do you get the 8th gym leader back because every time I go to the gym he is not there and flint tells me he will be back later

You need to go to the lighthouse in sunnyshore to get Volkner to go back to his Gym.

Take the path that leads to the gym except when you see the first path take it then follow it until you see a light house the leader is there. Talk to him and he returns to the gym. Head to the gym flint will be there still but he'll let you in this time.
