I heard the maximum a stat could be trained to was 255, but my dragonite has 276 attack, I'm confused does this mean he can gain 255 on top of this or am I wrong? Someone please explain

All you do is when you evolve your nincada be sure to have a spot open in your party and it will be in the empty spot caught with a pokeball and it will know what your ninjask knows
