Help!!!

I'm not really sure what's wrong, but when I got to the top of Mt. Cornett to fight Palkia, I was only able to talk to Mars, Saturn, and the two galctic memebers standing at the entrance. I tried talking to my opponent, but he didn't respond. I even walked right up to Cyrus and tried talking to him like, five times because I thought I was supposed to battle him, but he just stood there. So I walked past him, caught Palkia, and picked up the Luminous Orb or whatever it is. I think I did some thing wrong...Please help!!!

Well, if you did it correctly, you must have first beaten the first seven Gym Leaders, Freed Mesprit, Uxie, and Azelf form Cyrus' control, Beat a member of Team Galatic at each one of the three lakes, and then had had the chance to battled/catch Palkia.

To free Mesprit, Uxie, and Azlef from Cyrus, you must first find the Storage Key to Team Galatic's Warehouse. Next, you must battle your way through Team Galatic's Warehouse, making your way to Cyrus. Next, you must face Cyrus. After you beat Cyrus, you must release Messprit, Uxie, and Azlef from Team Galatic's Control. After you have battled Cyrus and have freed Mesprit, Uxie, and Azlef, you must go to the top floor of the Main Library in Canalave City, and talk to Professor Rowan, Dawn or Lucas, and your Avatar's Rival. You will be assigned Lake Valor, so you must go to Lake Valor, beat all the Team Galatic Members in you way, then you must battle Cyrus (I believe). Then you must go to Lake Verity, and help Dawn, by defeating Mars. After you have defeated Mars and Cyrus, you must help you Avatar's Rival at Lake Acuity, you won't face anyone, but you will find out your Rival lost to Venus.

After you have done the Three Team Galatic Members at the Lakes and have freed Mesprit, Uxie, and Azelf from Cyrus' Control, you must battle/catch Palkia. To do so, you must enter Mt. Coronet, at the entrance left of Hearthome City, make your way up Mt. Coronet, defeating all enemies in your way, to the Spear Pillar. You will then be able to team up with your Rival and face Venus and Mars. After you have defeated Mars and Venus, you will have to face Team Galatic's Leader. After you have beaten him, you will face Palkia.

If you have already have done all of these, I don't really know what truly happened; maybe a glitch of some sort.

It doesn't really matter. You might of missed out on some XP and data for your Pokedex, but other then that you didn't really miss out on anything.
