A swarm is like a huge gathering of a big amount of a certain Pokemon. Like say for example, you hear about a gathering of...Snorunt south of Snowpoint City. When you go into the grass south of Snowpoint City where the swarm was reported to be, then you might encounter nothing but Snorunt. A swarm can occur pretty much in any route, or area with wild grass in the game where the game programmers have programed a swarm to be. You will not see any swarms until after Professor Rowan gives you the National Pokedex. Go talk to Dawn's baby sister in her house in Sandgem Town every day and then she will have news about a swarm of certain Pokemon.
