Trades

When putting Pokemon up for trading there are a lot of Pokemon that are not listed on my drop down menu. I want a Mudkip but it does not give me that option. Other traders are asking for Pokemon like Mews and Kyorges and Ho-ohs but I never get those options. Can anyone please tell me why?

Hi, I think I can help. You cannot choose those Pokemon because you do not have them in your pokedex. I am 100% sure

Hope I helped,

To be able to obtain Pokemon via a GTS trade you must have first seen the Pokemon and have it's picture viewable in your pokedex. This does not mean you need to own it... But for some Pokemon like ho-oh or Mew the only way to really see it is to own it by cheating, which is how most of the people on the GTS see them. If you want mudkip the best way is the get emerald and go through the game and eventually mate your swampert and migrate over the mudkip after the egg hatches. I am currently doing that right now actually.

Oh, you mean when you are in the Global Trading Station looking for a certain Pokemon. Yes, I know why you do not get trade options like that, and how to solve the problem. The only reason as to why you cannot find any legendary Pokemon in the trade menu such as Kyogre or Mewtwo is because of the fact that you have never battled these Pokemon before. The only Pokemon that appear in the trade menu are Pokemon that you have already seen in the game. So in order to get an option to trade someone for a Kyogre, you will first have to see them in them in game. You can see Kyogre, Mew, or any other Pokemon that you want to trade by trading them to Pokemon Pearl from a another game such as Pokemon Emerald, or by cheating. After you see them, they will become available in the GTS.

Hope this helps.

There is a valid reason for this, and it bugs alot of people, including me.

Before you can request a set Pokemon, you must have seen it in the wild, a battle, or anywhere in the game. One way is to cheat. Another way is to migrate.

If you have any of these Pokemon from a GameBoy Game, then you may migrate that Pokemon to your Pearl or Diamond game after beating the Elite Four. But remember you just need to see the Pokemon to get it in your drop down list in the GTS.

They will not appear in your list because you havent seen those Pokemon in your game, you have to see the, in order for those Pokemon to appear in your list

PhilXZ answered:

You have to have those Pokemon in your Dex or else you cannot view them in your list.
