There are a bunch of easy ways to know if your game has "crashed". There are also alot of definitions for the word "crash"

If you mean crash as in your data is completely ruined, but your game runs:

A) You did something or found a fatal error in the coding
B) You cheated using Action Replay
C) You exposed it to heat, water, ETC.

Crash as in, game freezes, black screen, ETC:

A) Something inside the cartridge broke, but is an unused part until a certain part of the game
B) Another fatal error/ glitch
C) Action Replay
D) Corrupted game.

Crash as in, everything goes weird:

A) Action Replay.
B) Fatal glitch or error
C) Corrupted game.

The most common thing is when you use Action Replay, when usually everything gets messed up.

It means there is a problem with the data. When your game crashes, there could be a number of things. When you turn the game on, there is a messed up screen or something like that. Your game can crash if you do any of these things (note this is not all of them) 1. Use a messed up action replay code (or gameshark) 2. Turn it off when it is saving, and keep doing that 3. Just messing with it. Like dropping it too many times can mess it up. Hope I've helped!

cheating-is-good answered:

Well, your game will not always crash, but you can tell whenever your game does crash as there are several different signs that show something happened to the game. If you use an Action Replay cheat code, and you are walking around suddenly when the game freezes, then that can be considered as a game crash. If you are playing the game suddenly and the music stops and starts going errrrrrrr, making that sound, then that is a game crash. If you are playing the game, and decide to save it because you are tired of playing and you accidentally turn the game off while it is saving, then you can consider that too, as a game crash. I am sure that you have seen other signs, but those are the main ones. Most game crashes can be resolved by reseting the game, so they are not that big of a deal.

Hope this helps.

Bad eggs and missingno could be another problem. They are both messed up pokemon. If you have one get rid of it ASAP. If you find one do not catch it. DO NOT hatch bad eggs or your game will be ruined.

All I can say is that Diamond and Pearl have a double-save thing so that if one file gets corrupted, you can go from the other. This does NOT mean that you can have two files. Hope I helped. Steven Bates (Sizemoreindian24)

When your game crashes, most of the time it does NOT mean your game is ruined. Just reset Smile I don't mean reset file just turn off and back on. It is most likely not a corrupted game so don't worry. Smile
