Time-based Events?

Time-based Events?

How can you tell if the battery has "run dry" so that time-based events no longer occur? Is the DS supossed to give you a message or something, or does it just happen? Also, is there anyway to get your DS so that time-based events occur again? This information would be very helpful, because I am working on my pokedex and need to see only Pokemon found in the honey trees and they are not appearing(any Pokemon at all, in the trees) and I have been waiting for a little over three hours now. I would like everybody's opinioin about my situation, and the answers to my questions. Thank you in advance.

Comment:(Feb 3 2008) Thanks guys. My battery has not run dry, just the trees are taking longer than usual to shake. I am very glad that you two answered. Again, thank you very much.

Um, the time is controlled in the D/P games by the clock in your DS... If you put your game cart in a different DS, then it has a pop up message that says that the time is different to the time kept on the game (same goes if you change the time of your DS)

I doubt the battery in such a new Pokemon game would have gone dry... The battreies are designed to last YEARS! Not one year.

If the time based events were to stop working, then it would never be night or day on your game, either, as these are 'time based events'... It can take a while for the trees to shake... Sometimes more than three hours... Be patient.

I hope that the battery in your game, or DS didn't run dry, because that would suck, and be considered a faulty product, since they are supposed to last like 5 or 6 years, or maybe more. Time based events are 'controlled' by the DS's clock, so if it says it has run dry, or if the DS can no longer clock timed events, then you are pretty much screwed unless you get it fixed. As to your other question, yes, it should give you a message about the Clock every time you turn on the DS.
