latias and latios

How do you trigger the special mission that lets you get those two? And do they automaticly become you're friends? Thanx to anyone who helps! :P

You must buy the friend area southern island and get surf.
The next morning latios will steal the keckleon shop you must go to northern range and kill latios later you need to go tp pitfall valley and rescue latias.
Wenn you rescue him latios and latias will join to your team.

I'm having the same problem! I have the necessary Friend Area and Surf (plenty of Surf HMs), but the event won't trigger! What the f am I doing wrong?!

GO TO SOLAR CAVE. YOU NEED HAVE A KEY.YOU CAN GET IN THE SAME DUNGEON.
FIND A PLACE AND PUT THE KEY IN,AND YOU GET SURF.

Northern Range

To open this one beat Articuno and Moltres 3 or 4 times each or obtain HM surf
and the friend area Southern Island and the next morning a cut scene will
play. Suggest you take about 4 Apples and 4 Max Elixirs. There are 20
something floors and at the top you'll face Latios once defeated he'll open
Pitfall Valley

Pitfall Valley

All you have to do is get to the top about 25 levels or so and you'll rescue
Latias when you return they'll ask to join your team.

If nothing works then think if you have the actual HM surf and if you have another sub plot on. If you do then get the HM and finish the sub. If this doesn't work for you I don't know what will.
