Dual Slot GBA Pokemon

Question asked by stumped on
Last Modified:

Dual Slot GBA Pokemon

I had no trouble finding the dual slot Pokemon for Pokemon Ruby, Emerald, and Fire Red--coincidentally, I defeated the elite 4 in all three games. I can't find, however, the dual slot Pokemon for Leaf Green and Sapphire--do you have to have beaten the elite 4 in the dual slot GBA Pokemon game in order to obtain that games dual slot Pokemon or do I just have to be more patient (I tried in some areas for 30 minutes with no success).

Oh, I get it! I didn't know what "dual slot" meant... But if what david_banner says is correct, than I think the Dual slot Pokemon for leaf green would be magby? Correct? And I think magby can be found at stark mountain and somewhere on route 227
Because magby can't be found when you have Fire red inserted into the gameboy slot of your DS... Is that what makes it a 'dual-slot' exclusive to those titles?

I didn't realize they were special somehow. I just traded a magby and an elekid from leaf and fire to diamond... I suppose, you can find the evolution items on them, though... Why are they specifically called 'dual-slot' pokemon? Oh, I'll just go and google it. Google doesn't pick on me for not knowing everything! And it answers me quicker!

What's a dual slot pokemon? I'm intrigued...

v-gamer answered:

For Ruby, it's Groudon. For Emerald, it's Rayquaza. For Fire Red, it's Charizard.

In Sapphire, the "dual slot pokemon" is Kyogre. You battle him before you obtain the eighth badge.

In Leaf Green, the "dual slot pokemon" is Venusaur. He's the final evolution of Bulbasaur, which is obtained no other way besides choosing Bulbasaur as your starter in the beginning.

Other than that, this question does not apply whatsoever to Pokemon Diamond.

If those are not the "dual slot pokemon" you're talking about, I'm afraid you'll have to ask this again, and ELABORATE on what you mean by "dual slot pokemon".

david_banner answered:

Ok well I'm sad to say the two people who answered this have no idea whats going on. Im fairly certain you are talking about the Pokemon which appear due to inserting an older Pokemon version in the GBA slot. For example you insert leaf green and you can now find magby on route 227. However to answer your question I can give you little. I do know you DONT have to beat the elite 4 to get the pokemon. Maybe you shuold try turning off the game and restarting it fresh with the game inserted the entire time. Or maybe double and triple check you are looking in the right spot. Other then that there isnt much I can do for you, but I do hope that helps

v-gamer answered:

Those that have answered, failed to say that you need the National Dex, which you may or may not have depending on what Pokemon you've ran into.

Some Pokemon are harder to find than others, so you need patience with some of the pokemon.
