Question for Pokemon Diamond
I got this game for my brother and he is wondering what is the best party in the START. He only has one guy the fire monkey. Who should he catch now.

Well I would start of by getting a watter or grass guy, then work my way from there. You always want to get different typs, never the same. thats all I can really tell him, then he will have to deside for himself what types he wants after that.

Well, there isn't a BEST party, per-se.
Catch a Starly, it's going to be his Fly slave.
Get a Bidoof (to become Bibarel) for your real HM Slave.
Then get a Shinx, not a bad team player.
A Budew isn't bad either, Roserade is amazing.

Alright, with Chimchar, he'd want a water and grass pokemon. Possibly Buizel and Budew. I mean, Floatzel and Roserade aren't bad Pokemon to have.
With a trio of fire, water, and grass Pokemon, he needs some HM "slaves". A good trio of HM "slaves" would be:
Bibarel, with- Cut, Strength, Rock Smash, Rock Climb.
Gyarados, with- Surf, Waterfall.
And Staraptor, with- Fly, Defog.
Bidoof and Starly are caught very early in-game, so Bibarel and Staraptor shouldn't be a problem for him. Getting a Gyarados is possible a little later in-game, because you can get an Old Rod only after you've obtained the first badge. With the Old Rod, fish in any body of water to get a Magikarp, and evolve him at level 20 to get a Gyarados.
So, before getting two badges, it's possible for your brother to have a team consisting of:
Chimchar
Buizel
Budew
Bidoof
Starly
Magikarp

Have him catch a Starly and a Bidoof. Starly is a good flyer, and Bidoof is your prime HM slave. Catch a Budew early on too. Roserade will be a useful ingame Member on your brother's team. Shinx is not bad either. Also catch an Onix for a decent tank in the beginning. This should give your brother's team a good head start. This was practacly the early team I used. Trust me it does work for the first badge or two.

Definitly shinx because luxray is awsome,and starly because staraptor will do you good in the Pokemon league.

Just catch any Pokemon, make sure they different type.. Do not focus to one type of Pokemon..
