Question for Pokemon Diamond

I don't get it.... Do you have to see the Pokemon to complete the pokedex or capture them?

You only have to see them. That means someone shows you a picture, you battle them in a trainer or wild battle, or they fight with you.

You just have to see them thats all I did and if you havent seen palkia yet then head to celstic city and there is an old man who will show you a picture of palkia so you can complete your pokedex.
