How do you catch a heracross?

Question for Pokemon Diamond
How do you catch a heracross? My guess is that you put honey on the goldn brown trees but I do that and all it's says is that "The bark is slathered with honey..." and I don't know what to do after that? So prety much thats 2 questions

Wait a day or a half a day, then come back to the tree. After a while the tree should shake. Press A and you'll battle the Pok�mon.

You are right. You do put honey on the tree, but you have to wait quite a while for it to do anything. When the tree is shaking that means there is a Pokemon there. Also, you can get aipom, burmy, combee,cherubi, and munchlax from putting honey on the tree besides heracross. There's also a chance it will be a wurmple instead. Also here's something interesting, I saved the game right before I checked the tree so I could restart if it wasn't the Pokemon I wanted. It wasn't so I restarted but it turns out it will be the same Pokemon as before only difference will be gender or level. Hope this helps.
