It depends if you have an expantion card it will change but if you don't you probly can change it at the options menu on the DS main screen.

Yes. The game has not been released to the US in English yet.

Yes, mainly cause you got it from Japan, and second there isn't a US version completed yet.

Yes, since it is the japanese version, it will be in japanese. I just got the japanese version and know very little japanese, so I'm just using the walkthrough.
