Question for Pokemon Diamond

My Pokemon pearl keeps freezing in the same spot, specifically in Oreburgh City, when the npc starts to give you a tutorial. Once the npc starts to step to the right the game stops (in terms that no matter what button you press it just stands still) but the music keeps going;I've tried it on other Ds' and the same problem occurs... Is there a way to fix it?

Try starting a new game and see if that works. You aren't too far along in the game, so you won't lose much. If it continues to happen, you might need a new game as a whole.
