Well, I base mine off the Pokemon's Stats. If it is high in it's Special Attack stat, then I will give it Special Attack moves.

Hope this helps!

Well I read this question differently from the pender. I believe you want to know how you can control what your Pokemon wants to learn next. You can't control that but you can control the types somewhat. Depending on what type of Pokemon it is (fire, bug) is what it can learn. Beautifly can learn bug, poison, and flying type moves. Pikachu can learn Electric and Normal type moves. You can also go in your bag and get HM's and TM's to teach your pokemon. You press activate then you choose your pokemon. You may need to make it forget a move. If you are trying to decide what move to make read what it does along with the stats. I only choose the one that lowers HP and not stuff like Evasivness. Thats all I can say to help you. Good Luck!
