Good Parties

Hi I need some help. I just started a new game of Pokemon Diamond and I was wondering what Pokemon should I catch for my party? I just beat the 33rd gym leader so I'm not so far into the game. My Pokemon so far are:
Grotle, Staravia, Luxio, Ponyta, and Kadabra. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I also know I need a water-type Pokemon but I don't know which one is the best one to catch and evolve...I really want a Lapras and Arcanine, but I can't get those until later in the game. So which Pokemon should I get for now?

Maylene has fighting type pokes, so you should focus on getting Pokemon that know psychic and flying type moves.
She has a meditite, machoke, and lucario.
Lucario is weak against fire and ground(2x effective)
Machoke and meditite are weak against flying and psychic(2x effective)

You should get a staravia also because it is a flying type. Ponyta is good since it knows fire type moves so that can knock out lucario. Maybe get a kadabra also. You can catch abras in the grass directly to the right of jubilife city.
