I go on gts and they say that there is not a capadable acsess point in range when there is one right in front of me

Are you absolutely sure that you are near an Access Point? If you are sure, then check and see if the Wireless router, or internet device is turned in, and that all lights are lit up, that lets you know that everything is up and running. You also have to program your Nintendo DS. Go to the WI-FI in Jubilife City and click on the big globe, then set up your location on the globe. That should help some, then when you turn on your Nintendo DS, go to the menu and set up the WI-FI. Try all of that, and see if you can trade Pokemon via the Global Trade Station now. Hope this helps.
