Mersprit

I went to catch mersprit but it ran away and Rowan said chase it. What do I do now?

Well, Rowan told you what to do didn't he? You have to go out, and catch it, right after you find his hiding spot. When you battle Mesprit, it will run away first thing. So to get rid of this problem here are some things that you can do. You could Migrate the Pokemon, or catch the Pokemon called Trapinch, it's ability will trap a Pokemon in a battle, so it cannot run away. Or, you could capture a Haunter, or some other Pokemon that can learn the move mean look, as that will stop Mesprit from running as well.

You track it on the map that you find on you Poketch. Same thing with Cresselia when you find her.

Look at your marking map on your poketech and it will show it's location but every time you fly or switch routes it will move.

I'd say after you encounter it use a master ball on it I made the mistake of using it on azelf so it took me like 4 or five weeks to catch it
