Question for Mega Man Battle Network 5: Double Team

I keep beating Magnetman Beta (the one in ACDC 1) but I only get a Magnetman chip when I thought it was supposed to be a Magnetmas SP chip. Do you have to beat him a certain way to get the SP chip?

Does he apperar at random or at a certain place?

At a certain place, although you cannot see him while your moving through the net. You have to walk through a certain spot to get to him.
