I need to make ROPE!!!

I can't get my partner to make rope. I have 20 tree vines. I go back to the cave & choose "I wanna talk to you about something" , then my characters reply back is "Don't say anything". I even tried to ask him to do me a favor and he always says "I don't feel like it" , & he always says this no matter what I do for him. I give him gifts, feed him, give him water, even take him around with me. I'm frustrated, why can't I make rope. I need it so I can build the bridge!! Please help.....

As I am Sam/Eric, I know that I CAN'T make rope... so if you are Claire you could try and chose the option "Make tool"... rope may be there to choose from.

When you ask your partner to talk about something, YOU are the one who "doesnt say anything". That is your only option to choose from, as you have not come across anything new to talk about.

Umm well I'm having the same problem as well. However, if you go to the forest then pick up a vine or some vines later under conversation options and under I want to talk to you about something there will be rope. But when I ask sam ( I'm playing claire) to make some rope he says I'll need the materials to make that. I don't know how to get past that. Hope I helped!
