Don't listen to anyone else hes not a racoon or a racoon-dog thing he is a badger that if he puts a leaf on his head he can change form

Just like pennypad23 said before he's a badger, and he used to be Miroku's friend. Hachi helps you to travel to one place to another (except you have to pay).

He is sometimes getting a beating from Miroku.
