You can't.
There are a fair few characters in the game you cannot recruit unfortunately.
Another is Aphrodi =[

To unlock poseidon you must first beat them in a friendly match in where torch appeared and team genesis(Gaia) launched their supernova you can then recruit poseidon in videophone
