I accidentally used the max freshness code on the hoe as well and now it freezes when I select my hoe in the bag. Is there any way to make it go away, to get it set to the normal state of the hoe again? :(

Usually the max freshness code wont freeze your game, sometimes it's just the X99 Code. However, You may have to start over, or just never plant anything. Next time make sure you have no items in the first 12 of your ruck sack or storage that shouldn't be multiplied IE: Tools. Because that will freeze your game.
That does happen sometime. Their might be a code to get a new Hoe like in Harvest Moon DS. If you have an Action Replay thing you can enter the code. If not you might have to just reset sadly, but if you used the AR code in the first place you can use it again for the max money, lolz XD
I did that for the Harvest Moon DS, but it isn't needed if you know the trick ^^
