Well the day of your wedding is when what gender your baby will be is determined. Its random so you want to save before the wedding. If you've saved after you've had the wedding then I'm guessing all your going to get is a baby boy. Hope this helps.
Thanks for that answer Ninetailed Fox but I have now figured how to get a baby girl. I got married on the complete opposite dates from my previous games and have just had my second baby girl (different games) yet I saved my games after my weddings in both games.
