What weapon/armor/accesory do you need to learn.....this ability??? I thought Blue mages already came with this skill :(

Try the item "Light saber" you have it from the begining and learn is a passive ability

You have to buy the Light saber from a shop: it is only 86 gil I think. When you learn the passive ability "Learn" put it on and get hit by a monsters ability and you will learn that ability for combat! I have 4 abilities so far and they are: 1.Roar(from the wolf-men)it gets rid of all debuffs and buffs on every person battling.2.Night(from Mermaid-women) it effects the entire battlefeild,putting people to sleep. 3. Bad Breath(from Malabros, the big green or purple things with teeth) it is a "cone" type attack that poisins,binds,and silences up to 4 people in the cone raidius. 4. Magick Hammer (from goblins) hit a enemy with a hammer up to (i think) 5 spaces away. There is plenty more Blue Mage spells than this...

Fire Kirby 119 has it right you buy the light saber supposedly available at the start of the game usually but as there is a bazaar and if isnt in shop do a ton of quests and eventually will get stuff to trade for it at bazaar and then buy it

Purchase a "Light Saber" from the Shop and equip it to your Blue Mage. He will now "learn" from monsters--if he's targeted with a move he can learn, it will be instantly added to the list. The best way to do this is to have a Beastmaster with you, so you can force the monsters to use their abilities on your Blue Mage.
