How do I get to the dark elf?

Don't use any metal equipment(armor or weapons) and if you want aviod battle...
go to the chocobo forest by troia and get the black chocobo and fly to the cave
First, speak with Edward in the infirmary (it's in the western part of Troia Castle) and get the Whisperweed. Then talk to the Epopts. Make sure to get the Fireshard and Thundershard from the weapon shop in Troia village, as well as non-metallic armor (such as leather) for Cecil, and remove anything metal from Tellah, Cid, and Yang as well. Head north from Troia until you reach a circular forest area--this is the Chocobo Forest. Find a black chocobo and catch it, then fly just a little ways to the east and find a cave entrance. Land the chocobo in the trees and enter the cave.
