Please help!

I played Eragon for nds in my computer, and I'm confused.. Why can't I gather herbs? What should I press/do to collect the herbs? We can collect 3 herbs right? Even when I have only 1 herb, SOMETIMES I can't collect it, sometimes I can..
And there's one more.. When I collect the herb, the number of my herb doesn't increase.. Why is that? What should I do??

its probably a small herb. they cant do anything nor are they collectible unless you have missing hp

well, if they are small herbs you cant pick them up unless you have missing hp, however if you find a large herb, it should work

When you walk through an herb, It will increase your health bar. But if you look closely, the herbs that you can collect have the circle around a picture of the herb, with little triangles on the top and bottom. The ones that replenish your health instantly have no triangles, and these are more common.

There are three types of herbs
1
Mini herbs that give you a little bit of heath
When you have been hit....
2
Normal herbs can be colleted and used with the spell...
3
Large herbs can be colleted too
But they give you maximum heath...
