How to kill first Kull

I have meet my first Kull and the gates come up and my ability to use my bow goes away and he always kills me.

I recommend using spells such as energy bolt and bone break. Gems will appear under the waterfall every now and then as will herbs.

Yeah. There is an easy way to kill any single enemy on Eragon. When you first see him press 'L' and eragon should lock on to the Kull (you will know if this works because the enemy will briefly flash yellow and a circle will appear on the ground around him). Anyway when he gets close to you wait for him to attack, just before he attacks press 'R' and 'Right' or 'Left' Eragon should slip round the side of the Kull leaving his back exposed. Then use the strong attack on the Kull's back. Repeat this until the Kull is dead. This will work with any of the bosses apart from Durza.
P.s. I'm assuming you're talking about the Kull in the forest level, not the Beor Valley as 'ahorseheaven' thought.
