If you move the 8 units into the size 5 jug, then move the 5 units in the size 5 jug into the size 3 jug. This should leave 3 units in the size 8 jug, two in the size 5 jug, and 3 in the size 3 jug.
Then move the 3 units in the size 3 jug into the size 8 jug, this leaves 6 units in the size 8 jug and 2 in the size 5 jug and none in the size 3 jug.
Then you move the 2 units in the size 5 jug into the empty size 3 jug, move the 6 units in the size 8 jug into the now empty size 5 jug. This leaves the size 8 jug with 1 unit, the size 5 jug has 5 units and the size 3 jug has 2 units.
The final step is to move the 5 units in the size 5 jug into the size 3 jug, then move the 3 units from the size 3 jug into the size 8 jug.
This leaves 4 units in the size 8 jug and 4 in the size 5 jug.
