Wilfre's Lair

I'm in the second area's of Wilfre's Lair. I go all the way to left, over the disappearing and falling blocks, then I reahc a trident which I activate to drain the black liquid. After going down from there, there are two pits to jump over. I can get over the first one by jumping and then doing a flip, but that doesn't work on the second pit. I am running out of lives fast, does anyone know a way to do this???
