On the fourth level in the earth kingdom, if you head east there is a mini game where you have to catch the cabbages, when you win you get a cabbage for a key item, could someone tell me what it's for.And is there any tips for getting through the library

Cabage?????????? I got through the library, and walk, avoid the gaurds and if a gaurd is on one side, stay on the other. Never give up! I beat the game, I should know.
