Press L while entering the menus. You'll be able to see all the stats of the Pokemon in the egg. The game will no longer see it as an egg and it will be able to battle if you press L while entering a battle. While the code is on and L is pressed the egg will not hatch, so if you want it to hatch turn off the code.
