In regular combat, Aang can only send air blasts to kill enemies. However, sometimes when you are not in combat sometimes you'll need to bend and element to do something, complete something, or make something happen. Special symbols appear that indicate which element you need to use (a special symbol appears for Sokka). Aang can bend every element (excluding Sokka's boomerang, machete, and club) when it comes to these special bending moves. Be aware though that these special moves can be performed if there is anything involving the element near the fight eg. A bucket of water, a lamp, etc. Hope this provides some sufficient insight on the game.

For each element, observe the number patterns. For each digit, look at the number in the space. This is how it works. First, find the number 1. Whichever space or digit that the number one is in is the thing that you bend first. To make it simpler, I'll explain water. The sequence is 4312. Since 1 is in the 3rd space, the third container must be filled first. The 4th container should be filled next since the 2 is in the 4th digit. The 2nd container is filled 3rd and I'm assuming you realize why by now. The 1st container should be filled last. I don't thing the order in which each element's test is completed counts. If it does, try multiple times with a different element going first in the sequence one time and continue from left to right or right to left. But do not worry so much, it probably doesn't matter.
