Where to Find Crystals

Crystals in Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139 are an important resource as they allow you to upgrade your weapons and complete the side quest called Mask of the King which you can undertake during the second half of the game and will reward you with 10,000 gold when you complete it.

Crystals are rare, they can be found as items in the Desert Temple, north of the Facade. When you are at the Facade, if you go to the materials store next to the King's Mansion you will be able to buy crystals for 2,400 gold. This is expensive, but it is the requirement for the Mask of the King side quest (you will get your money back as a reward when you complete the side-quest). If you are short of money you can farm crystals in the Barren Temple, but this can be a long process as there is no guarantee you will get items. Alternately, if you do have the required crystals for the side quest now is a good opportunity to get more to upgrade your weapons.
