Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Cheats and Tips

Here are our best cheats and tips for this fun multiform brawler.

How to defeat your opponent

If you are a first-time player of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, or of any fighting game similar to this genre, then you might be wondering what the objective of the game is. In typical fighting games, your goal is to reduce your enemy's HP down to zero in order to win, but it's different for a platform fighter such as All-star Brawl 2.

In this game, hitting your opponents with attacks will increase their damage percentage. The higher the percent an opponent has, the farther they get knocked away with moves. Your goal in order to win is to knock off your opponents off the stage and they won't be able to come back. For example, hitting someone at 0% won't push them far but hitting someone that has 150% will make them fly farther. Depending on the mode of the game, your main goal is to remove as much stock or life of your opponent in order to win.

Know when to use Light versus Charged attacks

Light attacks are often quick and they can be used on the ground and air in order to deal damage that is meant to rack up the percentage of your opponent. On the ground, pressing the light attack will let you jab your opponents, while tilting will stick either up, down, or to the side will lead to different light moves. The same directional inputs can be done in the air as well, and you will want to focus on light attacks for combos.

Charged attacks on the other hand are slower, but they're good for dealing damage that can knock your opponents far away, and they can sometimes reflect projectiles. Charged attacks can be done on neutral as well as up, down, or to the side and they can also be done as aerials. If your opponent has high damage, consider using charged attacks to knock them off the stage.

Know your character's recovery move

Special attacks can be used by all characters, but they each have their unique properties. You can do neutral specials, side specials, down specials, and up specials which can all have different outcomes. However, since you're in a platform fighting game, you'll want to be able to get back on stage if you're knocked away.

Aside from doing double jumps in order to get back on the stage, most of the characters in the game have their Up Special as their recovery move. For example, if you are off stage using Jimmy Neutron, you can get back by using Up Special to make him ride on his ship.

Tap your jump button for a short hop

Some attacks in the game require you to be in the air, and they're great as well for initiating combos and strings. If you're a beginner, you might have a tendency to hold on the jump button which will make your jumps higher. If your opponent has low percentage, they won't be launched much so you might want to have short aerial attacks.

If you tap on the jump button, you'll do a short hop instead which will make you land aerials faster. After tapping the jump button, quickly use any attack and a direction such as forward, upward, or downard. Each character has different aerial attacks, so check which ones you'll be able to easily string together so you can dish out high damage.

Tap down when falling to fall faster

If you do a double jump or if you're coming down from high above a stage, you might be open to attacks if you're falling down slowly. In this case, you'll want to do a fast fall in order for you to get back on the stage in time so you'll be safer.

If you're going down to the stage, tap down on your control stick to fall faster. This will help you get back on your feet so you can continue with attacks on the stage, or perhaps you'll want to initiate new combos that require jumps. If you practice fast falling, you'll be able to have a faster type of gameplay because you can do aerial attacks, fast fall, and then repeat or do your next move.

Use grabs if an opponent shields often

If your opponent is quite defensive and they love to shield often, you will want to break through their defense so you can continue dealing your attacks. Doing a grab will break your opponent out of a shield, and you have different options on what to do after grabbing.

You can pummel opponents for additional damage, and then throw them in any direction such as up, down, forward, and back. Some grabs are even good as combo starters since you can make your opponents airborne but close enough to you in order to follow up with an aerial attack.

Learn how to dodge attacks

Pressing your shield isn't the only way for you to stop enemy attacks. All characters in the game are capable of shielding, but doing additional moves with your control stick while shielded can let you do more evasive options. If you input down on your control stick while shielding, you will be able to spot dodge. This is useful for evading strong moves on the spot, and you'll be able to retaliate after with an attack.

If you want to put some distance between you and your opponent, you can roll to either side. Inputting left or right while shielded can let you roll. If an enemy has a slow attack, rolling to the side and retaliating will help you win. Take note that you do not have to hold your shield before you can spot dodge or roll. You can input the shield and directional input at the same time to immediately dodge attacks. Pressing the shield button in the air will also make you dodge, so mix this with directional inputs to help position yourself better.

Take note of your slime meter

All characters in the game have 3 bars that can fill up during a fight. This bar will increase faster if you deal damage to your opponents or if you can parry attacks, or it will increase slower if you're the one getting attacked. Slime can be used in different ways by using the slime button such as holding the slime button while shielding which prevents your shield from shrinking or getting knockback.

One slime bar can be used for enhancing your other moves. You can improve your special moves, charge attacks, or use it to improve your air dodge. Two slime bars can make you use a slime burst by pressing the shield and slime button at the same time which lets you stop opponent attacks with a burst, or it stops you from getting knocked away. Three slime bars will let you use a super attack by pressing the slime and light attack button at the same time. This usually has a unique animation for each character and it deals a lot of damage, usually used for defeating enemies. Since there's a lot of special moves in the game, you can go to training mode and have your slime meter to full so you can experiment with the different effects available.
