Mr Bow is a turn-based arcade bow and arrow shooting game where the objective is to eliminate enemies to stay alive. You play the role of a lengendary archer master who has to destroy the evil enemy stickman archers with special bows which are unlocked at the bow store that can significantly upgrade your marksmanship. There are two types of game modes in Mr Bow, these are Campaign and 2 Players. Both modes have their own unique features so make sure you know what these are before selecting one. Campaign mode involves quests against multiple opponents while 2 Players is a mode that allows you to practice your skills with a bow and arrow. In 2 Players mode you will be able to play against a friend.
In Mr Bow you will have access to an unlimited amount of arrows so missing the target is not a problem. What is important is you improve your skills as quickly as possible. When firing an arrow there are certain factors you need to take ito account if you hope to hit your target, the most important being gravity. The further away from the target you are the more the arrow will drop down in the end. Also, the speed of the arrow is determined by how far back you pull back the bow. To make things more difficult the game will introduce moving targets in the later stages.
Aim for the head whenever possible as doing so will earn you extra points. There will be situations though when you will not have the time for a precision shot and you may have to resort to releasing as many arrows as you can and hoping you inflict as much damage as possible.
As you progress through Campaign mode you will notice that the difficulty of the shots you need to make begin to increase. At the start you will only have static targets to deal with but eventually you will have to contend with them moving position. The game will also introduce moving obstacles such as flying pieces of rock which will appear between you and the opponent. When these things begin to happen you will need to have a basic knowledge of the laws of physics and plenty of patience if you hope to make the shot.
In Campaign mode the missions are arranged into groups of three and called a backlist. If you manage to defeat all three or four bosses on the list you will receive a substantial reward for those combo kills. To be successful though you must complete the feat without losing a life otherwise you will have to start all over again.
If you are killed while attempting the backlist you will lose all your progress in it. The game however does offer you the chance to continue where you left off in exchange for watching a video advertisement which will typically last for about 20 seconds.
At the bottom right corner of the playing screen there are two boosters and they each have different functions. The one on the left acts as a shield while the one on the right helps you heal your archer. Both boosters are valuable and should only be used when you really need them.
Before you reach the boss of every level you will have to first eliminate their foot soldiers. If any of them damages your health you will struggle to defeat the boss and progress to the next mission. The game does however give you the option to replenish your health by going to the bottom right corner of the playing screen and spending 100 gold coins on the the booster on the right.
At the lobby screen there are options that will take you to stores that will enable you to spend the gold coins you earned on new bows and costumes. Some of the bows you can purchase at the store can significantly improve your marksmanship which makes them a worthhwile investment. Buying a new costumes however is only a cosmetic change. Also at the lobby screen you will be able to watch a video advertisement in return for some gold coins.
