How to Upgrade your Cannons

Once you have lost all your bases in Missile Command: Recharged the game is over. It is then that the points you earned in the game are tallied up and you can use them to upgrade various aspects of your cannons. The upgrades you can invest in for your cannons are Power, Reload, Speed, and Rebuild. Power determines your cannons' explosion radii, Reload determines how fast your cannons can fire again after launching a missile, Speed determines how fast your missiles travel, and Rebuild determines how fast it take for your cannon to regenerate after they are destroyed.

Uprading costs for your cannons gets progressively more expensive. Level 1 costs 1,000 points, level 2 costs 5,000 points, level 3 costs 10,000 points, and so it continues. Ultimately how you invest the points you earn on your cannons will be decided by your playstyle but it is recommended that you distribute your points evenly over the four categories to have balanced cannons.

Grab the Power Ups

Whenever you see a floating diamond appear from the side of the screen it is to indicate that a power up has entered the battlefield and if you destroy it you will be bestowed with a temporary boost in power. The type of power up you will be granted is determined by the letter that is inside the floating diamond.

The 'F' Power Up
This is the fast power up and obtaining it will substantially speed up your missiles so they reach their target almost instantaneously.

The 'S' Power Up
This is the shield power up and it will add a temporary green shield above yur bases. Once this green shield is in place enemy missiles will not be able to penetrate it. It is important to remember that your cannons will not get a shield from this power up and you will still need to protect them.

The 'T' Time Power Up
When you use this power up you will drastically slow down all rockets and enemy ships that are currently on the screen so that you have the time to easily pick them off.

The 'M' Mega Power Up
When this power up is activated your cannons will be at maximum power making them lethal to any enemy ship that gets struck by them.

The 'B' Power Up
This is the bomb power up and is capable of immediately clearing the entire screen of projectiles and enemy ships. This is probably the best power up in the game as it can instantly get you out of trouble when you are being overwhelmed. Make getting this floating diamond a priority as soon as it appears on screen.

If you do not see the power up with the letter you want just ignore it and after a few seconds it will cycle to another random power up type. This means you always have the option of waiting for the power up you want.

Cannons Regenerate over Time

Although it is good to try and get as many points as you can you must remember that the main objective of Missile Command: Recharged is to survive. Don't get disheartened if one of your cannons gets destroyed as it will regenerate over time and you will be back up to full strength. The same cannot be said for bases which must be protected at all costs as they do not come back once they are destroyed. Your game will automatically end if you lose all your bases regardless of how many cannons you have operational.
