Introduction

Metroid: Other M takes place on the "Bottle Ship" where Samus meets up with her old Galactic Federation team. She finds of the illegal bio-weapons that the galactic federation was mass producing, and Adam was set out to contain and destroy this secret by the galactic federation. Metroid: Other M was a game that had it's release date extended twice in the the making of the game, so my expectations were quite high for the second original Metroid release on the Wii.

Graphics

The ability to switch from 1st to 3rd person view was obviously a well thought out strategy. Although smooth, the graphics in the game had been drastically less sophisticated since the release of the prime series. Although the characters and enemy graphics were well designed, the actual surrounding graphics could use some extra detail.

Sound

The sound effects and game music for Metroid: Other M, is simply astounding. The sound effects are all on good time, and the game music is steady, and the cut scene music is good with tension. The only thing that could improve would be for either the environmental sound effects to be improved, or the actual depth of the sound effects in the game.

Gameplay

The gameplay in Metroid: Other M, is by far, the best of any actual Metroid game ever created. The ability of "sense move", the 2 different views, and all the special attacks make this game one that you simply cannot put down. With great 3D rendering, this game puts you back in your seat from just how realistic this game actually is.

Lastability

Metroid: Other M is one of those games you want to play over, and over, and over again, until either your disc stops working, or your brain starts to melt from out your ears. With the addition of hard mode, the difficulty puts the experienced gamer at his/her best with no missle tanks, energy tanks, accel charges, or E-Recovery tank upgrades.

Overall

Overall, this game is a must have. Is is a great addition to the Metroid series and a game that brings back the old feel of Metroid back onto a modern console. Although a bit too dramatic in the story line, Other M is a game that will keep you entertained for ages to come. Happy Gaming!
