There are 17 story missions in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and after completing most of them you will either be rewarded with a new piece of equipment or unlock a new side activity. Before scouring the city searching for people to help it is recommended that you first focus on completing the story missions as this will save you a lot of time in the long run as it will enable you grab everything in a district during one trip.
