Maneater Tips
Eat All Sealife in your Way
As your shark prowls around the ocean be sure to eat up any sealife that gets in your way to augment the key nutrient supplies that will enable you to level up your abilities. It is important that you pay attention to the type of aquatic wildlife you eat as each in order to obtain nutrients, namely proteins, fats, minerals, and rare mutagenics. You will find that alligators and sharks are rich in protein while other types of sealife will provide important minerals. Use your sonar to reveal the genetic makeup of your prey.
Spec your Shark
It is important that you remember to spec your shark when you unlock the different evolutions and abilities in Maneater in order to give it more power and a better chance of survival. Make sure you switch between abilities and evolutions according to what you are trying to achieve in the game, whether it's trying to find collectibles, boosting your nutrients, or fighting foes. Switching between abilities and evolutions will also help you narrow down which ones are best suited for your style of gameplay.
Upgrade your Sonar
It is essential that you upgrade your sonar as soon as possible in Maneater as doing so will make hunting the collectibles needed to upgrade your shark easier. It will also enable you to analyze different food sources which will open up new possibilites for your shark. Make sure you ping your sonar often in order to find hidden areas and permanently mark them on your map.
Yellow Plants and Lights
If you get lost navigating the underwater caverns and tunnels in Maneater you can always guarantee finding yourself an exit by swimming towards yellow plants and lights. These elements have been added to the game specifically to help with navigation.
Swim Away and Regain Health
During the early game you will still be a relatively underpowered shark and engaging in combat with more powerful enemies is not in your best interests as you will likely be overwhelmed. If you do encounter an enemy more powerful than yourself and sustain damage during a fight plan an escape route and swim away eating other marine life to recover health as you make your exit. You can always return to continue the battle with your foe once your health has been restored and you have refreshed vigor.
Backtrack to get Stronger
As you progress through the main storyline of Maneater you will discover that the new areas that you unlock will contain more challenging sealife. If at certain points you find you are struggling in these new areas don't be afraid to backtrack to previous stages in order to complete quests to level up and pick up collectibles which once equipped will help you progress when you return to the main storyline.
