To be successful in the game, you would have to be able to formulate a formidable lineup of Heroes. Not only should you be able to get Heroes of skills with matching characteristics, you must also find a way to come up with a unique lineup that is particularly focused on Physical Attack, while another one leaning toward magic base attacks. The basic reason behind this is that there will be some stages wherein you will be required to participate in a level wherein either the enemies are mostly resistant to magic/physical attacks or perhaps you will be thrown into a Campaign or level that will take away your Support and/or your Tank. Therefore it is always best to be ready for such instances.

Of course in the beginning, you won’t have much choice in picking out your Heroes since you will only have to work with the default Heroes provided to you. But even so, mastering your Heroes and planning out what type of Heroes to pick (to match your strategy) is indeed a welcome and applauded tactic.

There are several ways you can acquire Heroes:

1. Work your way through Campaigns

There is no other way to advance in the game other than dutifully carrying out and completing campaigns and Tower Defense levels in the game. By doing so, you will be able to gain much-needed experience and troop points, but you will also be able to effectively collect new Heroes by unlocking new levels in the Campaign. So just be patient as you work your way through the Campaign levels.

2. Claim your free Hero from the Wishing Pool

The Wishing Pool is named as such for a reason—it is there to provide players an opportunity to “wish” for a reward. These rewards could either be Gold, Runes, and best of all, a Hero. Once you have exhausted your “Free” points to open a chest at the Wishing Pool, you have the option to pay up Diamonds in order to get another run of scoring another reward in the Pool. The first time you will have to pay up with Diamonds will cost you around 258 Diamonds. Using up your Diamonds for the first time will guarantee you a 2/3 star Hero—so do well in crossing your fingers that the game will grant you a nice 2/3 star Hero who can increase your troop’s overall power.

3. Collect more Diamonds

When you have already amassed a decent number of Diamonds and when you have already used up your Diamonds at the wishing pool, it is now best to try your luck again in purchasing an x8 Diamond Wish. Taking advantage of this feature allows players to claim a 3-Star Hero.

Although the rewards system of the Heroes may seem a bit too random, it is still recommended that you get to know the Heroes in the game so you would know which Heroes you would want in your lineup—which are highly effective Physical Attack Heroes and which are suitable Tank Heroes. Doing so will help you save time and effort from buying and spending Soulstones and Experience points on Heroes you wouldn’t want to use in the long run.
